Former head of Gazprom in Latvia Evgeny Roldugin dies of COVID-19

The former head of the Latvian office of the Russian energy company Gazprom, Yevgeny Roldugin, has died after being diagnosed with Covid-19. A flying hospital of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, equipped on the basis of the Sukhoi Superjet liner, was sent to Latvia for Roldugin.

This is reported by the program Nekā personīga of the TV channel Tv3.

This hospital is used to rescue people affected by major disasters or natural disasters, as well as to transport seriously ill patients. The plane arrived to take Roldugin to Russia, but it was too late.

The media learned about Roldugin when in 2009 Gazprom opened its first European representative office in Riga.

In addition, Evgeny is the elder brother of a close friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sergei Roldugin, and a close friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who, according to several investigations conducted by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (OCCRP), owned offshore companies with a turnover of several billion dollars.

The authors of the first investigation suggested that Sergei retained assets associated with the Russian president. The Kremlin called the 2016 investigation into Roldugin an “information attack.”

Commenting on the Panama scandal, Putin said that Roldugin bought the Steward cello, created by the Italian master Antonio Stradivari in 1732, and that it cost $ 12 million.
